Candle Care & Burn Tips

The golden rule for the first burn

The golden rule is patience! On your first burn, let the candle stay lit until the melted wax kisses the edges of the jar. This takes a few hours, but it guarantees an even melt for the rest of the candle's life and avoids that sad wax tunnel down the center.

To trim or not to trim the wick?

Always trim! Think of it as a tiny haircut that gives your candle a new lease on life. Snip the wick to about 5mm (1/4 inch) before you light it up. This simple step is your secret weapon against smoke, soot, and an unruly flame.

Is there a "sweet spot" for burn time?

Totally. The magic window is between 2 and 4 hours. Any shorter, and you risk tunneling. Any longer, and you risk overheating the jar. And when your wax level gets down to its final 1/2 inch, your candle's work is done. Time to pick a new favorite!
