How to Care for a Five-Wick Diptyque Candle

A large multi-wick candle rewards a little attention, and a few habits keep all five wicks burning evenly through 150 hours.

First burn matters most. Let it burn two to three hours the first time, long enough for the entire top layer to liquefy edge to edge. Stop early and you risk a permanent tunnel down the middle.
Trim every wick to about a quarter inch before each burn. Five untrimmed wicks produce soot and an uneven flame. Trimmed wicks burn cleaner and slower.
